The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I spent most of the summer on my back deck with my leg recovering from surgery. What saved me was learning backyard avian photography . Who knew? This pair of robins were heavy into courting & I’d been watching them chase each other down for a while.
Specific Feedback
Not sure the birds are bright enough? And anything else that might help.
Very cute! I just hear them. Soon ours will be back up here and the dance will begin again. Considering you were limited physically, I think this little vignette works, especially to relate them to your house and yard by including the fence. They are both so colorful and I love the pose of the one on the right, the mate looks to be a little flummoxed and that’s a great static reaction. You could probably lose a tiny bit off the top and bottom to further reinforce the interaction.
Great interaction between the two, Connie. I think the birds are bright enough and show good detail. I like the fence, I think it adds something to the scene. I could see decreasing the background highlights; the robins might pop more.
Very good, Connie. I certainly wouldn’t go any brighter. Robins are pretty dark birds and these look about right to my eye. Excellent interaction and great poses.
Great action, adorable moment. Good job on the timing. I would like more space on the left, to balance that fence post, and place the subject better within the frame.
Thank you Everyone who offered your thoughtful comments & suggestions. I went back to the photo to play with your ideas, & especially for the cropping thoughts, realized the issue was really with the crop ratio. So here it it with a crop I think is more suitable to the composition, based on your thoughts. I also decreased the background brightness a bit.
What do you think?
Thanks again!,
Connie
