Against the Grain

Day trip to Palouse two weeks ago. A little early for bright greens, but still unique. Will post some others. I haven’t posted for quite a while, but have been taking a lot of photos. Guess it’s time to resume posting and commenting.

This is quietly original. I had not noticed the cross-tilling marks in fallow before. Nicely captured. By the way, there is a lot of color available, if you wanted to bring out the textures a bit. First I used Allister Benns’s history brush in places and then a LAB Curve (Man in the Moon Method).

I like the compositional elements but feel the cropping perhaps is not optimal. A bit more rule-of-thirds might make it more dynamic.

Tony, Thank you for commenting. Your rework does change the dynamics for the better.
