I just returned from a short trip to Santa Fe to check on our house there and of course used the trip as an excuse to spend a few days photographing around northern New Mexico and southernmost Colorado. I ended up spending most of a morning at the Antonito terminus of the Cumbres & Toltec RR, and most of that afternoon at the Chama terminus. This image is from the latter - simple but the light was truly marvelous.
Contax Vario Sonnar 35-70mm at f/3.4 or so, Sony A7R, ISO 400, 1/2500s, very minimal adjustments in Capture One.
A note on the composition. Believe it or not, the big nut is not at the center of the image, it is exactly at one of the Golden Ratio intersections. I have to go back and look at the grid in CaptureOne to reassure myself that that is the case.
