An Airborne Heart

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Not sure this is “small in the frame”, but the thousands of birds that made up this heart in the sky are far away, and very small. It was so fun to come across them flying this way and that, and making so many patterns! This heart is all natural and no ps enhancements to make it look like a heart.

I’ve seen starlings do there wonderful flying formations, but not a heart. Nice find and wonderful capture of it. Topic? I’m not sure if it qualifies for the challenge. Lots of small birds, but formation is fairly large and occupies a fairly large portion of the image. I’m interested to read the moderator’s response. On my monitor I notice some vertical lines in the background.

this is a fascinating image Judi. The birds are tiny, and the heart is intriguing. I wonder if the lines @Jim_Gavin has pointed out might be a dissipating con-trail against a lightly overcast sky? Lots of interesting elements to this one.

I believe the lines are the sky/clouds. I did turn the image to see the heart right side up.

Oh, wow! Just amazing. What a fortunate capture. I actually think the color variations of the clouds add to the abstract quality of the image. I wonder about putting a slight vignette on the edges.
