I like this one, David. It has a very spring-like feel. The colors are appealing. The depth of field seems about right to me.

I’d consider getting rid of the orange-brown areas in the upper left and lower right but it’s not a big deal either way.

I went ahead and removed the 2 brown areas you mentioned.

The original poster added a revised version of their image.

That’s a beautiful bee - we have something similar in Korea. I love the two tones. Compared to your previous bee, this one is very well lit indeed; I think the flash helped. Focus is excellent too. You could crop in on this considerably and make the bee more central and visible, but probably I’d still prefer your crop here with all the flowers. As you deleted the ULC brown bits, maybe the LRC one could go too. Super shot, David.

David: I think you’ve hit the sweet spot with this final iteration. I like the placement and posture of the bee and the details are marvelous. The DOF falloff gives it a 3D effect that I like a lot. Nice job on working this subject to better and better results. >=))>

Very nice focus and lighting!! Looks like you have the flash and lens dialed in.
