### Description

We’ve been experiencing a “heat bubble” here and I got this shot (from my living room) of a CA scrub jay cooling off in our backyard. It put on quite a show and this was my favorite capture of it.

### Specific Feedback

Is it okay that the eye is not very apparent amongst all the hubbub? Cropping?

### Technical Details

Z9, 180-600 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, monopod, 1/3200th, f 9.0, 1020mm ISO 9000, cropped to 4073 x 3216

This looks fine to me, Dave. I wouldn’t worry about the eye not showing with all that water flying. The water and wings are the stars of this show.

I love all the action, love the bird’s wing position and the water droplets frozen in air

Really great balanced exposure

The only consider I have is…. How would it look in a high contrasty monochrome….could look epic

Wow that’s a lot of action - terrific catch with the upward wings and all the water splashing about. Like Dennis, I wouldn’t worry much about the eye. The pose and water drops are so strong they easily carry the image.
