First time out to Elk island national park east of Edmonton Alberta with my camera, and the third or fourth buffalo I’ve had the fortune to photograph ever (all in that morning).

I love the precise focus on the eye, it looks good technically.
You may go more vertical and have some more canvas on both sides. (top & bottom)
It may work better in B&W.

Love seeing the prominent single eye and antler - attention getting! Adding room on top and bottom may help as Jagdeep suggests.
