What a mouthful! Those bluebird kids will have a hearty breakfast. The brightness on the outer edge of the bird (rim light) pulls the bird nicely from the muted background. The fill flash worked well and softened up any shadows that were present. I think that this is a nice image as presented. I also like that the prey is visible and is sharp as the subject. Well done. ---

Thanks, @Jim_Zablotny ! They find the strangest assortment of bugs-- things I’ve never seen-- and I can’t imagine how they cram them down the throats of tiny chicks. ---

As usual, excellent color, detail, pose, DOF, etc. ---

Good look at the bug, Diane! And the bird is nicely posed with great detail against a nice background. ---

Thanks, @David_Schoen and @Allen_Brooks ! The babies must still be pretty small as the adults are going into the nest to feed them instead of just sticking their heads in. I missed nest building, not wanting to disturb them. ---

Another beautiful image of these birds Diane! The colours are gorgeous..both bird and background. And, of course, the bug is the icing! ---

Thanks, @Glenys_Passier ! That’s probably how they view bugs, too! ---

What a beautiful bird, well isolated from the background, sharp as can be and nice gentle colours - great work. The use of fill-in flash in this context is interesting and not something I’ve tried - it balances with the rim lighting perfectly, so something else to work on 🙂 . Bet that bug went down well with the chicks! ---

A very pleasing image. Nice natural perch, good background with soft colors, just as the bird has beautiful muted color. The food for the kids is the bonus, of course. Well done. ---

The background is very pleasing with enough variation to make it interesting. Having a bug in the bill is always a plus. Well done. ---

Thanks, @tom.marin and @Jerry_Austin ! This is sort of like shooting fish in a barrel, but both the variety of bugs and lighting keeps me at it.
