Description
The sheen on this 1" diameter fungus after the rain caught my eye.
Specific Feedback
I thought it went well with the BG, and tried to make the two complementary. Any comments?
Technical Details
OM-1 + 60mm macro 1/40 f5 ISO200 small stack in Zerene
After basic adjustments in LR and Denoise, selected the fungus in PS and lowered Highlights. Inverted and used Brightness/Contrast sliders till BG seemed complementary.

An amazing and lovely find!! Fantastic colors and wonderful details in the reflections and fringe! For my taste, the lowered contrast on the BG has gone too far and just doesn’t look right. That is mostly in the right third, so a square crop would take care of it well enough.
Mike: Great subject superbly rendered. For me the BG competes simply because of how much of it there is in the frame. A tighter crop is more comfortable for me. Back to you. >=))>
I like the re-cropped version very much. Water in mushrooms is a fun find, but hard to capture nicely and you’ve done so here. In a children’s book fairies would use this as a bath. I like the frilly texture of the edges and the way you’ve captured the water’s surface tension. Great find.
