Image Description

Another python that crossed paths with me. This one was a lot longer than the previous one posted.

I’m hoping the leaves and OOF grass aren’t too distracting.

Glennie, the details in the eye make this photo! Again, I could wish for the snout to also be sharp, but that’s me.

Glennie: I must admit that I’m not much of a snake lover and my wife hates them in the garden. Irrational certainly but we have had copperheads, water moccasins and coral snakes pay visits so her general tac is to kill first and ID second. One of our grandsons had a python for a pet once and Chrissy would not go in the house if the snake was there. HOWEVER, this is a great image and I much prefer it over your other shot because of the much more interesting environment. I’m also a fan of single capture shallow DOF shots and while I’m getting more competent with stacking I appreciate the judgments and skill it takes to pull off and image like this. Overall, most excellent. >=))>

Thanks Mark. Point taken about DoF. Next time.

Thank you Bill! The thing about snakes is they are not usually agressive. They are defensive. Walk away, leave them be and you won’t see them again. More people get hurt by snakes when trying to kill them.

Another great shot of a python Glennie, the foreground is a little distracting, maybe cut up a little from the bottom to reduce it. Or maybe a closer framing reducing some of the background blur as well.

Dear Glennie,

I am jealous of your giant snakes. They are glorious and wonderful.

Love,

Kris

I actually love the OOF foreground. It makes the snake somewhat mysterious. Lovely shot.
