Chrysanthemum Earth

Chrysanthemums are bountiful this time of the year. I imagine this is a view of the earth right now.

Technical Details

Is this a composite: No
The original is a 1 X 1 image of a mass of flowers. It was enlarged and cut in half by cropping. Then the 1/2 was vertically flipped and attached to the bottom of the original. The result was copied, horizontally flipped, and attached to one side of the 1st result. A positive vignette produced the white outer frame.

Very creative Paul! I really like it. I wish the earth looked this beautiful right now…

@Carol_Nichols Thank you, Carol. I’ve had a lingering interest in tessellations and experiments with more complex expressions.

They aren’t challenging to make in Photoshop, and it just takes concentration to remember how to build the blocks and make the correct vertical and horizontal flips.

For inspiration, Ms. Clark CTE https://moncurephoto.weebly.com/2014--2016-classes/tessellations has interesting work and tutorials.

Give it a try.
