Ten minutes later on 7-28, it was time for the Terns to put on a show. The shot is taken hand-held from the Zodiac, as the Tern flew off with its morning fish.

Thanks for stopping by.

Peter

Very nice, Peter. I like the banking pose and dark eye stands out against the black head (not always easy to do with terns). The fish is a nice bonus .

(Thanks for your nice compliment on my Song Sparrow.)

Appealing wing and body position. Fish looks real fine. We just had a week of rain and the Caspian Terns appear to have left for the year. I have a difficult time getting them close enough for decent plumage details.

Zodiac?! Where were you?

You caught a very nice pose with the fish. Really like the fully outstretched wings. And as Allen mentioned, the black cap looks good. Comp. wise, I’m curious whether you have any additional room to the right of the frame? If so, I’d come in a little from the left and add a little to the right. Otherwise, the details look good, but I bet you could tease out a little more detail.

Nice catch Peter with the fish in good view. I’m fine with the composition as is. A fine capture.

I like how you have caught the wing positions. Colors look good to me. And, the fish does add a good touch.

Hi
Thank you for all the comments. Lyle I moved the Tern to the left of frame and used a local brush on the inter parts of the wind, to add more detail. John, I was in the Zodiac shooting Osprey when the Terns showed up and got lucky.
Peter
