Confederate rose

This is native to Japan and China, and blooms from July to early October. It’s a one-day flower that blooms in the morning and deflates in the evening. It blooms one after another every day for a long period of time. The flowers are pink or white and have a diameter of about 10-15 cm.

Lovely, Naofumi. Beautiful detail in the flower and the water droplets add a nice touch. The OOF background helps make the foreground flower pop! Nicely seen and captured. Thanks for sharing with us.

Beautiful. The inclusion of buds and a flower behind adds considerably to the story of the plant.

That you chose to shoot these after rain makes the translucence and delicacy of the flowers even more apparent. They are so fleeting and precious. Agree about the buds being a nice way to play out the lifecycle presented. I’d like to have the right hand leaf fully revealed like the left one, but the colors are really lovely. All the pinks and greens. Brava!
