Cormorant

The shad run on the Rappahannock River this Spring was very poor for a variety of reasons. The cormorants were plentiful though. More so than the usual bald eagles and ospreys. I generally do not shoot them but this year there was a parade of them up and down the river. This is my favorite due to the wingtip touching the water.

Nice details and exposure on the bird. The wing hitting the water is a nice touch. Love their green eyes. Wish the bird was not angled away from us.
