I like the colors, textures and flow of this image, Don, though i confess to not seeing a human figure (though i do like the dog’s head).

Thanks, Dennis. Maybe we’re seeing the same thing. Maybe I’m the only one who will see a human.

I like the mosaic qualities of this abstract image. Excellent color and texture. I probably have to ask you what you’ve been smoking if you’ve been seeing human figures in these images, but that’s just trying to be funny.

Hi Don,
I love the colors and textures in this. The shapes that jump out for me evoke a madonna in blue robe turning to her right, and looking toward me. Then again, I might just be looking for a sign.

David, Marylynne, thanks. I’d post a picture of Munch’s “The Scream” to show you wat I’m seeing but I don’t want to violate the copyright laws. 🙂

For whatever reason, I noticed immediately why your title is “Cover Your Ears”. It could also be titled: “Hear No Evil”. Excellent image.

This might make a good horizontal turned counter clockwise. Primarily because you could then make an association with a landscape. However I’m not sure if it’s still a good idea without that association. The horizon is such a common theme in our lives that we may just like subjects that look like it.

It’s fascinating how differently we see such things, or don’t see them.

Hi Don,

Sorry, I am not really seeing the human figure, but I am loving all of the wonderful colors, lines and details in this intimate scene of the rock face. I also quite like the way the array of warm and cool tones work together so harmoniously. This is really quite striking IMO. Good eye to spot this.

Don,

At first I just see a great geologic abstract. I really like how the colors gel together; especially framing on the sides with the purplish tones.

I don’t think I would necessarily see any human figures without being prompted… But once down that road (as with a lot of images, once you start looking… they come.) Also, first impression was trying to figure out how “Cover your ears” related to the rock…

I do see a hooded Monk-like figure in the main triangular section, although with a very pointy head, which lead me next to think about the “Cone Heads” in one of the original Saturday Night Live skits.

Finally though, I DO SEE covering of the ears and your reference to “The Scream.”

And with all that visualization, I’ve got no nits or suggestions! Well seen and captured.

I like this. Especially the colors. It took me about 30 seconds, but after contemplating your title and therefore thinking of “The Scream”, it popped right out at me.

Lovely abstract with nice colours and texture
Lifted to another level with the scream and cover your ears!

Great presentation for critique
