Eric, I resonate with your topic. I think it is right on. I really enjoy making new images of familiar subjects (even though I will not be spending weeks at a time in Patagonia 
).
Many excellent pictures here, but “Swirling” 2019 really humbles me. I love it.
Eric, thanks for sharing a part of your journey and experience. I find it really insightful, your approach to seeking out compositions from a different perspective, to look deeper, past the iconic views that typically draw people to certain destinations. I haven’t been photographing for too long, but have found myself being able to enjoy multiple visits to local places that are close to me, each time trying to look for something different as I develop my own creative vision.
