About This Image

After a dry summer, two weeks ago the first morning clouds darken the sky. I normally shoot in color in such condition but this morning I try a black and white to give to convey the mix feeling I had: the sadness to see how nature is suffering from the hot summer temperature and the hope to see the rain finally coming.

I’m wondering whether the mood or feeling I was aiming for comes through.

I too often let my instant first impression rule what I think about a photograph and rule out further contemplation. Initially I didn’t care for the fg, but after reading your post I get what you were going for here. I love the sky and the B&W was probably a wise choice. My only nit is I feel the composition is a little unbalanced. If you had moveda little further to the left it might have filled in the more flattened area on the right.
