Don't Fence Me Out!

There are a million kangaroos/wallabies in Australia, and no fence ever would keep them in or out. (35 million, to be exact)
We saw several large mobs of 'roos dealing with fences - 1/2 easily sailed over the 5-6 foot ones, and others wiggled below the lowest wire, even if electrified.
The fences are actually meant to stop the non-native cattle, bison, and water buffalo that are decimating many swamplands. They don’t impede the marsupials at all.

Great aerial shot of this one, Sandy. Interesting backstory as well.

Nice image, nice story. The fun of travelling around!

Wildlife and fences… There’s a whole book waiting to be written about it. Your explanation of the circumstances is excellent. And so’s the photos, BTW!

Hi Sandy,

I like the pose of this flying 'roo. I like the point of focus on the middle fence post and the focus is fairly good on the kangaroo. The head is on the edge of your DOF limit and may need a subtle tweak of localized sharpening. A good action shot for sure…Jim
