A small group of Mule Deer were grazing in the yard as I peered out a partially open sliding door, when this young male went over to mom and started nursing! Mom tolerated it very briefly and then decided she’d had enough, so she jumped away (first shot) and moved off. The faun was clearly offended as seen in the 2nd shot. Ha! Great catch, Mark. I have often seen the female gray fox(es) do the same thing to their kits, as the kits get older. You know how kids are; always pushing the limits! The look on his face in the second shot is priceless!
Great captures, Mark, of nature doing it’s thing. Our white tailed deer have been demonstrating the same behavior. Clearly the does have had enough but the fawns haven’t. I’m with @terryb, gotta love that look!
