Don,
This is sweet! Love it. Now given your affinity with the Agave, or was it Yucca… I wouldn’t have guessed the cactus - but it really doesn’t matter with the abstract does it.
What is really appealing to me is the sense of the pointed or starry form in the lower left is connected to the brighter area up top. Or thinking reversed how that upper area may be illuminating the object below. And the cool, darkness separating the two is just right.
No nits or suggestions. Very enjoyable abstract.
Thanks, Lon. You saw what I was seeing.
Hi Don,
I love this image. I have been meaning to get back to my laptop and comment on it. There is a lot to love here: the colors, the 3D start shape, the combination of light and dark. Without seeing the mention of the cactus, it reminded me of a 3D decorative star with lights inside that people sometimes hang in windows here in Portland. They are just paper with an LED bulb. And at first I thought this was ICM of something “non-nature” like that.
I like the title too. Indeed, it looks like a bright idea or realization. I never would have guessed barrel cactus.
Nicely done.
ML
Thanks, Marylynne. I can see why you might have thought of ICM but I’ve found that a very shallow depth of field also creates interesting effects.
