Eye to Eye

I love photographing the resident ospreys at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. They’ve become very used to me and my camera and I can get really close to them when they’re in a good spot close to the water where they like to eat their catch. This one taken at 300mm and only cropped slightly to centre the bird a bit more.

Technical Details

Composite: No
Panasonic G9 100-300mm, 1/500 sec. f/5.6 300mm ISO 200. Slight cropping and sharpening in Lightroom, also lightened the shadows.

Nice look of interaction between you two.

Wonderful,
love the leading lines in the background

Thank you, yes they really do interact with me I can spend an hour watching and photographing them at their favourite spot it’s almost like they pose in some shots :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I always use the EVF to maintain the eye contact

Thank you Anita, the background is one of the pandanus trees they perch on and the true colour of the sky, we have incredible blue skies here in Queensland especially in winter
