Fall Foliage western Maine

Fall foliage in the western mountains of Maine is one of my favorite times of year.

Is this a composite: No
Nikon D500, Lens 500mm, ISO 640, F5/6, manual

This is a nice composition of shapes and colors. I think it suffers from strong sunlight. Milder light conditions should bring out the colors more intensely.

Thank you Igor. I do have one taken later in the day I will post that one later and see if it helps with the colors.

Here is one taken different time of day in a different area.

Norma, both views looks great. The extra pop of the brights and higher contrast of the sunlit view have their own merit (although you might try some subtle burning-in of the brightest tones). The horizontal view shows more saturated color, but misses a bit of the “glow”. It’s also true that on a horizontal monitor, the extra size of the horizontal view automatically gets more attention.
