About This Image

Fall is one of my least favorite times of the year, but at least there’s color. This is a 45 image stack of a blackberry leaf that exhibits amazing coloration.

I decided to go with an off centered diagonal vein as the anchor to this comp. How do you like it?

Jim, the colors area feast for the eyes. I like the composition you’ve chosen. Well done. Why is fall your least favorite time of year?

Thank you @Michael_Lowe for your critique. One reason why fall is my least liked season is that everything is shutting down and insect diversity is quite low compared to spring and summer. …Jim

Coming from a bug :mosquito: guy this makes sense . But I think you’re making the best of the fall season. Frame filling color and edge to edge sharpness plus marvelous detail makes this a fine subject and a marvelous presentation. Most excellent. >=))>

Excellent job on this image, Jim. I always like leaf macros with all the wild detail of the colors, the structure and the various depredations from those insects of yours. I understand your point of view, but growing up in Michigan, some of my very fondest memories are of fall days in the woods.

Jim, I agree, the colors are outstanding. I also like your not quite corner to corner placement of the main vein. I’m fascinated with the “furry bits” sticking up from the veins. As a very minor nit, I do suggest removing the partial white spot along the lower right frame. The details are amazing!
