This winter I visited Vesterålen in the northern part of Norway primarily photographing landscapes, but also abandoned buildings. At one place I spotted this sea eagle , and managed to take a few images.

OBS! Olympus High Resolution Shot: The camera takes 8 images automatically with sensor shift, and combine them into one image in camera, primarily to increase the no. of pixels. But here I also got an additional effect!
Cool image Ola! The eagle pops well against the cloudy background. The white bird flying above definitely provides another element of interest. Cool that this seems to be an in-camera effect as you describe. I also like the scraggle rock the eagle is perched one. I’m wondering if there is another version showing more of that rock. Granted I imagine you would lose the white bird in that rendition. In any case, I like this version a good bit. Well done.
Well now, that was a happy side effect. I’ve used that feature on my Lumix a few times, but never with a moving subject. Even if this is accidental, it’s a revelation, too, and quite artistic in the placement of the two birds. The sudden introduction of color in the still bird and perch is striking and I also wonder if there might there might be more rock.
This is a very clever and compelling image, Ola. The contrast of the sharp and rather stark perch, the very warm colored eagle and the very ethereal flyover flock work together beautifully. If I recall correctly, you’re not into a lot of digital manipulation, but I can’t help but wonder what this would look like of a slice were taken out of the essentially white sky immediately above the eagle to lower the overhead birds a bit. In any case, I really like this image as posted.

This image has a very unusual composition that works beautifully and produced a lot of interesting discussion.
This is fascinating. Excellent job. I could also see a little more space at the bottom to balance things out but it’s pretty interesting as is. Well done!
