While slowly cruising Florida’s Oklawaha river in Mike Ramy’s boat, we passed this scene!!! (A reptillian twofer.) It was a bit surprising because the gator didn’t dive into the river as we approached, while most of the larger gators dove well before we got close enough for a good photo.

Wow, that is such a great catch Mark and would be perfect for any of the wildlife calendars, with a caption of “Lets be friends”. I’m guessing the turtle was just basking in the sun when the gator decided that would be a good spot to rest his jaw at just the right angle. At that point, the turtle probably figured he should probably “go with the flow” rather than risk angering his companion :open_mouth: . Details on both are very interesting, and the two subjects are well lit and separated from the shade. Nicely caught!
