Near the town of Drumheller, the rolling prairie suddenly parts to reveal one of Alberta’s natural wonders: Horsethief Canyon. Photographed from a low position on the canyon floor, one of the largest mounds in the canyon appears to tower over the landscape and protrude into the sky.

Bob, I had never heard of Drumheller or Horsethief Canyon until today when I opened my computer and the screen saver was of some very interesting formations near Drumheller. Now, you post this view. What an interesting location. Must be lots of photo opportunities there. As usual, very nice photo. Thanks.
Thank you, Jim. This area is, indeed, interesting and photo opportunities abound. I only spent four days in the immediate area, knowing there was much more to discover, time permitting.
