Golden-mantle Squirrel and re-post

These little beggars seemed to be everywhere at Crater Lake (in the background) encouraged by the tourists who don’t, but should, know better.

What artistic feedback would you like if any?

I cropped on the left to remove an out of focus tree that was distracting and then added a bit of canvas. Is the squirrel too tight on the left?

Any pertinent technical details:

Canon 7d Mark II; Sigma 150-600 at 600 mm. 1/640 at f6.3. ISO 250.
RAW file processed in LR and PS.

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Allen!
Had you not told about the lake in the BG, I would have mistaken it for sky.:flushed:
You guessed it right, It does need more canvas on the LHS and I won’t mind cropping some of the foreground to make the frame rectangular. Square compositions work with very limited pictures.

Thanks, Jagdeep. Your suggestions were quite helpful. Here’s a repost with a 3:2 aspect ratio and more canvas to the left. The squirrels left eye is at a 1/3 intersection.
