Description
Our succulents have been slowly growing throughout the Fall and are beginning to bloom. All of the buds are formed and the next step will be for the flowers to open in the next few weeks. I love their slow progress which spares me the urgency I often have when the flowers only open for a day or two. >=))>
Specific Feedback
BG is the ivy wall on our patio which was in deeper shadow. I did not render it pure black and prefer this subtle dappling. Your thoughts?

Bill, a gorgeous image here. The soft colors make for a very pleasing floral scene. The BG works perfectly as it is captured. Only thought for change is a skosh more canvas on the left side. No nit at all just a thought…
Beautiful, Bill. I always love your succulents-they seem to be much more graceful than the varieties my wife grows. This is no exception and it makes me look forward to their progression and the resultant images.
Dennis: Keep your fingers crossed. This is in a pot and I wanted to move it so I could use the ivy wall as the BG. Chrissy had a support rod holding it but I failed to notice that the rod was in the ground next to the pot and not in the pot. The stem neatly snapped off from the plant . However my master gardener told me to just bore a hole in the dirt and insert the severed stem. Three days later it appears to be thriving and the first buds are opening. Perhaps I’m getting lucky .>=))>
Lovely, Bill. It’s a gorgeous plant and the curve and dappled background add greatly to the appeal. Tack sharp with lovely edge lighting. I think leaving the dappled greens was a good idea. It preserves the natural effect which, with the background in total black might have felt like a backdrop set up.
Bill, you’ve shown many excellent succlent shots recently and this one fits right in. The subtle colors here are wonderful. The hints of color in the background are a good addition, making this more of a “beauty” shot than an “illustration”. Plants are often amazingly resilient, I had a house plant that “died (completely dried and withered)” because it didn’t get watered during a vacation, that I moved to the basement and left completely alone. Six months later it sent out a new shoot and continues to do well.
Beautiful image. I really like the color palette, and the curve of the plant. The slightly higher color saturation of the bud at the top both illustrates the development of the buds and works compositionally.
Lovely. So subtle and delicate. I never would have thought of it, but the low key and black background really work well for this. Nice detail throughout. Perhaps a little more canvas on the left would be my only suggestion.
Gorgeous is overused but I can’t think of another word to describe my first impression. The composition highlights the gracefully elegant curve and the quiet pastel colour palette give this image a sense of dynamic repose, a lovely paradox. Beauty.
