Pertinent technical details or techniques: nikon D750 with Nikon 17-55mm F2.8 lens. Shot at 1/200 sec ISO 200 and 38mm.

While this is a good capture, it does not quite have the same depth of color as the HDR ones. The 9 day photo trip down the Grand Canyon was an introduction to landscape work in general, HDR, and other techniques.

Indeed, a stunning image. To my eye, though, the center bright spot is a little too “hot” and could stand to be dialed back a bit. But the detail and clarity in the rock “contours” is amazing.
