Hawk looking for a meal

Image(s)

Image Description

Image was taken last February of a Red Shoulder Hawk in our backyard on the search of a meal, after a light dusting of snow the night before and now bright sunshine the next day, during the mid to late afternoon. The hawk did not stay too long as most of the possible meals and taken flight.

Great catch, Ian. The snow is looking pretty gray and I think you could bring the exposure of it up a bit, though the bright highlight specks might end up blown.

Ian, this is a good catch on the Red-Shouldered Hawk. How nice that it stayed long enough for you to get this shot.

A nice look at the hawk, but it would profit from a higher exposure. I think it’s a good candidate for a vertical, also.
