### About This Image

It was our last morning in the Lower Zambezi in Zambia. We were doing a short game drive on the way to the airstrip for the short flight back to Lusaka. We were sad to go but didn’t have any great expectations for the drive. As we left the camp we were very pleased to spot two lionesses and five cubs. Four of the cubs spent most of their time nursing but this last one was playing around the entire time. It was so much fun to watch.

### Feedback Requested

I would appreciate any thoughts in the framing, lighting and color. Any suggestions on how to improve the photo are very welcome 😀

Wow. I’m heading to Lower Zambezi next year with David du Chemin. I only hope to get an image with this degree of cuteness. Great catch. I might crop just a tiny bit from the bottom.

This is a fantastic shot! I agree with @madd_laura, I would try a small crop from the bottom.

Regarding Revision 1:

First of all, the cub is so cute I am writing this critique with a big smile adorning my face. The colors are muted but I think it suits the subject here and I have nothing bad to say about the composition either. Not too cramped, not too far just right where we can appreciate the subject and get a feeling about the surrounding. I also like the foreground and the bush it makes me think this playful cub was playing peekaboo with you.
My only gripe with this image is the background, there is something strange there. It looks like a camo blanket with many flat colors. It seems over processed to me, I may be wrong but that is the feeling I get from it. Have you blurred it to separate the subject ? If that is the case I would suggest going a little bit easy on the effect. Zooming on the image I think I detect some subtle evidences of a selection on the edges of the leaves and animal, but again I may be wrong since I far from a digital edition specialist.

Anyway, it is still a very nice image, but I would be curious to see the unedited image
