Canon R5, Canon 100-500mm & 1.4ext, f10, 661mm, 1/1600, ISO 3200. The shot is cropped by 60% and I adjusted the vibrance and highlights, using DXO PhotoLab 6.

Very nice shot here Peter, love all the detail. I have often seen them standing on one leg but never knew why…perhaps its the mud, ha ha. BTW, my son and I observed a white heron anb blue heron feeding on the shoreline up near the Haddam swing bridge this summer. They gradually got closer in their feeding and commenced flying into each other. The white heron eventually left for another spot.
