Icelandic Mood #1

I am a stickler for color and color accuracy (not just for that…). In this case, however, I was unable to come up with any color rendition that I was happy with, possibly because of the dark basalt and the heavily overcast afternoon. So I decided to try black and white, which I don’t often do.

Leica Vario Elmar 35-70mm, Sony A7R, all processing in Capture One.

I think BW was definitely a nice choice as it looks so monochromatic to begin with. I bet as a print some of the fine textures in the snow and in the water look nice!

Alberto, this scene was made for B&W, I’m sure the colors here were pretty dull. The mirror reflection works for me, the graphic shapes here are strong enough to carry a mirror off. I especially like whats going on the right third of the image. I could spend a lot of time at this scene, there are so many possibilities here.

This is quite dramatic in b&w, Alberto.

Thank you all !!
