Indian Head Rock

The western shore of Pyramid Lake in Nevada is scattered with numerous fascinating tufa formations, frequently named by the indigenous people, including this one, known as Indian Head Rock. This impressive tufa mound is composed of interlocking spheres and barrels. Layers of beach rock are seen adjacent to and north of Indian Head Rock.
