Your revised version works well for me with the reduction of the reds in the BG. I find myself not taking shots because of busy backgrounds, but in this case the plover cannot stray too far from cover with lots of hungry predators looking for an easy meal. The image tells a story and the subject is a cute puffball. Well done…Jim
Diane, thank you for sharing how to select subject in PS, I’m a novice at editing and I appreciated your detailed explanation. I can do this in LR but some times I think PS does a better job.
Alice
Elizabeth,
What a little cutie, a great capture.

Thank you, Jim.
Thank you, Alice. I am lucky to be able to visit these little guys!
I think we should exchange notes!
Late again .
This is a real fun and fine image. I like the composition, DOF, detail and color.
well seen and taken.
Thanks, David!
Elizabeth, and @alice – your mention of some trepidation about Photoshop inspired me to attempt an introduction. It is really not a complicated program when pared down to basic photography! I’ve posed it in the Discussions section. I hope it might be helpful to you and to others in the same boat!
Wow, Diane, thank you, I will check it out!!
HI Elozabeth
