Description
Like clockwork, celestial in nature, the new crescent appeared right on schedule two days after its last phase. This moon was only 25 hours old, 1.5% illuminated and perfectly aligned with the Ecliptic moving straight down behind the sun. One of the harder moons for me to sight, my old eyes are starting to make themselves known. My 25 year old son saw it 10 minutes before I did! Shocking. I never tire looking for this sliver of light nor making photos of it. I picked up a camera seriously for the first time to try and photograph it and it has been a 30+ year journey.
Oh, BTW, this moon marks the end of the month of Fasting - Ramadan, and initiates the Festival of breaking fast called Eid al-Fitr.
Specific Feedback
Any comments appreciated.

Youssef,
I love the simplicity and elegance of this image. Your thirty year journey with the camera certainly has resulted in beautiful interpretations of our world and universe.
Thanks,
Susanna

Lovely!! And the gradient in the sky is the perfect touch. I barely managed to shoot it – it was just above the trees to the west by the time it got dark enough to see it.
LOVE the gradient here! Looks like in the full res version you’d even be able to see some nice texture on the moon. What a great way to commemorate the breaking of the fast. I bet this image made the experience even more meaningful. Well done!
Just a beautiful, outstanding fine art image, Youssef.
