Magnolia Grandiflora

Magnolia grandiflora, commonly known as the southern magnolia. It is a large, striking, evergreen tree with large white, fragrant flowers—up to 30 cm (12 in) in diameter!
Specimen photographed in-studio—backlight plus fill flash, 100mm macro.

Thank you for you kind remarks, Patricia. This was a very satisfying photographic experience. As with all photography, it meant determining what I wanted to portray, how to accomplish that and then executing it. I know you recognize that cut specimens wilt rapidly, especially under studio lights.
