This is my last favorite from the 2018 year. It was a good year for me as I was able to get into the field almost once a week. As a result I had a pretty solid return on keepers including one that made it into the March publication of the I.E. magazine here in So Cal. “Ghostly Shape Shifter.”
So going forward in 2019 I sincerely hope all the NPN Part Deux members have a wonderful year and a lot of keepers too.
Outstanding landscape image from JT! the light and color is wonderful. but I’m also really enjoying how this really captures the layout and geology of the area. I can see why this is a favorite of yours from 2018.
Paul, nice pano landscape, however it looks to me that foot hill horizon is not level. The shadows in the rocks are a tad over-saturated in color, the bald skies are not compelling so the skyline should be dropped or cropped differently to move center to higher rule of thirds, or select mounts and then command 't" and expand upward. The foreground rock is distracting, it seems bullseyed and blocks eye going thru photo and hinders the otherwise VG object separation. You might consider to content aware move it to left in CC19. Dodge bright lower front rock. thks for allowing me to critique . Happy New Year
First off congrats on the publishing credit, Paul. The warm golden light is wonderful and shows off the rock formations and vegetation of JTNP rather nicely. It also works well with the cool blue tones of the sky. I could see this with just a little less sky, but that is just a personal preference and not a critique.
An outstanding panorama from JTNP, Paul. The glow of the rock piles plus the bright/dark shadows in the lower right really let this view pop. Best wishes for 2019.
