We headed up to Mt Hood right before the New Years to enjoy a break in the weather and try to capture a night snow scene with a 21% moon. Unfortunately The clouds didn’t clear until the moon and set.
In this picture, I was surprised how the clouds were moving so slowly, that they didn’t appear overly blurred with this 13 second exposure. I did have to try to correct all the light pollution from Mt Hood Meadows ski resort which were lighting up the clouds on the right side of the image.
I do hope to head up there soon for more pictures, but it seems like the weather doesn’t like to cooperate with my days off.

Looks like it was a good night to be out in the cold.
Except for the cloudy sky when the moon was up, it was a perfect night on the mountain. Very calm winds and not to cold, maybe down to the teens. The dewpoint was high enough that the lens frosted up several times, so I think time lapse wouldn’t have worked. With all the new snow I’m anxious to get back up there.
