Musical score on a tree plank

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Even if I live on a seaside town I am a mountain lover specially of the Alps. In my excursions there I always come across many wooden houses. The wooden planks with wich they are built often show nice designs painted by the trees.
A photo of some years ago.
I hope that the photo is posted in the right category.

Buon giorno Giuseppe!
I have been absent from this site for a while and was just looking at the thumbnails. And then I decided to click on this one. I love the darkness, the lines, the contrast. I feel like I could split this photo up in quarters and every quarter would still be something I could put on my wall and puzzle visitors with. Well done.
All the best, Ingrid.

I love the theme in this Giuseppe. I see the musical score, what a great eye to see this and to capture it in a photo. It is so nice.

Another wonderful image, Giuseppe. I could see this in the abstract category as well, but I don’t know nay reason why it wouldn’t fit here. Not being musically inclined, I’m not sure about seeing that in it, but I love the curves and patterns and the dark wood grain.

I’m late here, but I think this is wonderful!! I love the patterns like this in old wood and I think this may be the loveliest one I’ve seen. You framed the shapes so nicely and the crossgrain pattern from the saw is such a nice texture. The brushing sidelight adds another flowing element that is simply beautiful! Very well seen and presented!

I missed this one! Not sure how, but glad I spotted it just now. I grew up with my father having a sawmill, and now my brother has one. So wood and the grains, shapes, knots, etc. are very interesting to me. You captured this so well. Very nicely done.

@Sandy_Richards-Brown, @Ingrid_Vekemans, @Ed_Williams, @Dennis_Plank, @Diane_Miller, @Shirley_Freeman I am so glad that you all liked this photo and that some of you are interested in this subject. The wooden houses in the Alps are often very old and the weather events have often carved the forms and shapes of these designs and hightlighted the colors. Normally these houses are adorne of many flowers hanging from vases and terraces and when I thought that the flowers harmonized with the wooden designes I took some photos. If I find some of them in my flower archive I will post one.

@Ingrid_Vekemans well come back to NPN. Thanks for choosing this photo for you return, I am honored.

Gigi: I’m just getting back into commenting after being gone to Oregon and then coming back to a heavy work schedule and ministry duties. Your vision is always marvelous and this is no exception. I love the dark color palette and the textures. Superbly crafted image. >=))>

Tchau Giuseppe,

I really love what you’ve done here. Beautiful eye for spotting and beautiful framing. It deserves a nice score.

Guiseppe, this feels like I’m looking at a close up on an old Violin! I really like the details and where you’ve places the knots. I do wonder how a slightly bright version would look, but the darkness works well at creating a sense of age.

@Bill_Fach, @joaoquintela, @Mark_Seaver I am happy for your attention and the good appreciation of this image of a very old plank, I think a century old or even more.
