Neat Coulee

Neat Coulee is about a half mile hike from the Eagle Creek Campground on the Missouri River. It starts out very open at the river, but quickly narrows and turns into a slot canyon, eroded deeply in the white, Virgelle Sandstone that gives rise to the white cliffs along the Missouri river. While it’s not very colorful, it is full of fascinating shapes and textures.

Mark, very nicely done here. This shares a bit of another planet look to it for me. Has the southwestern geological parts without the red clay giveaway. I’m sure you had a good time “trekking” around this locale…:sunglasses:

Mark, this is a really neat shot of some very unusual formations, totally fascinating. Your comments make me think this would also translate well to B&W, I’d be curious to see it that way in another post.

Intriguing image, Mark. Wonderful shapes and textures for the eye to explore.
