Nelson

Redoing old images

Mahale Mountains, a decade ago. After the killing of the leader of the troop, Nelson was the senior member of the coalition that took his place.

Taking a break here. It was very wet and rainy -and hot! - day when we climbed the mountain, just us and our guide and we were lucky to find the Chimps, as the troop had scattered after the regicide.

Leica DMR, digital back on R9, Apo-Telyt 180.

As he walked close past, he did not make eye contact until too close to photograph. Meeting him was a rare privilege.

Cool expressions and beautifully framed image and chimp looks very peaceful.
A touch more canvas at bottom would help.
