Allen, it’s a beautiful flower and the colors work well together. Nicely done.

What a terrific color combination. Purple & Green are lovely together and the softness of the bg helps emphasize the spikiness of the flower. Looks like it has some blooming to do, but I like the varying purple shades in this slightly closed aspect. The near dead centering works, too, and that’s rare.

Allen, this is a great look at this flower. The subtleness of the stem adds well to the sense that it’s rising above the ground. In Montana, we have lots of Salsify, but it’s all yellow.

Allen: Oh this is fine! A wonderful comp and your DOF management is spot on for my tastes. Even your framing is positively complementary. Most excellent in every way. :+1: :+1:>=))>

Top work Allen - A wonderfully crafted photograph of a beautiful flower, it’s a shame they only last a day (or maybe that’s what makes them special); incidentally, given the chance they spread like wildfire! Superb :slightly_smiling_face:.

Allen,

Wonderful use of a shallow DOF to isolate the flower. The colors work well together also. It is a “put-a-smile-on-my-face” type of photo. Nice.

This is a very nice plant portrait Allen. Beautiful bokeh and the framing sets it off nicely. As already mentioned, the colour combination is lovely.
