About This Image
Still having fun and enjoying the possibilities in my backyard. And when the birds aren’t active, I’ve been exploring the vegetation along with new and old techniques with the camera. The palm tree is actually my neighbors and it’s slowly pushing over my fence… but I’m good with that for now because it helps with the privacy that we enjoy… Occasionally we have to whack off one of the palm fronds… And I’m happy to photograph and experiment with this and the other trees and shrubs surrounding me.

This was a single frame ICM; not a whole lot of movement and I liked the end result. I’ve processed this to present a light and airy result, without going any further towards a high key image.
I’m very curious to know what your impression is. Does this work for you? Are there any processing improvements to be made or tweaks in color, contrast, luminosity?

Love this, Lon. The movement gives a feeling of a slight breeze, little strips of shade to keep us cool on a warm day. This is the kind of feeling I was going for in one of my agave images that included a bit of house/palms. Of course, I had more movement, so it felt a little more “under the influence,” though that might be appropriate for Palm Springs.
What I especially love about this is the way the green kind of glows against that blue. It makes for a really fresh and carefree feeling.

This is a terrific image, Lon! Love the colors and your processing. I like the abstract feel of it and could easily see this as a piece of artwork on someone’s wall. I wouldn’t change anything about it.
A nice ICM image, the composition and size of the movement are well chosen. The only thing that I not fully could make up my mind about are the white streaks. I find them a little bit disturbing but at the same know that they make the image more dynamic. Anyhow, great as presented.

Ola, yeah, good observation. I was actually wondering if this would be mentioned, so thank you for bringing it up. Not sure I’m gonna even try to address that - other than burning… it looks pretty complicated to try and remove/replace that whole line… probably just go with darkening the highlight.
