About This Image
I try not to post images that I know I’ve posted in the past, but I think this one embodies this weeks theme more perfectly than any of my other images. It was one of those serendipitous occasions of accidentally being in the right place at the right time. The shot was taken at sunset from the bridge over the Coquille River in Bandon, Oregon.
Chris: I know this spot but have only passed through during the day so this is a treat. I love the old pilings and the hint of land on either side of the river is just right. The color palette of the sky is just marvelous. Nicely see, composed, captured and presented. >=))>
This is fantastic Chris, and well worth a 2nd post! It does fit the theme very well. I wish I would have seen this when you posted it last year. The colors, reflection, and the mist all add up to a gorgeous image. Well done!
You picked a similar colour scheme to what I submitted. The visibility declines as you move away from the subjects just as our eyes would record this scene. The horizon is barely visible, bookended by the two slivers of land. I wonder if you might tone down the purple just a smidge. Wonderful image.
I’m certainly glad you decided to repost this one! This is flat out gorgeous! The mist is just creating such a wonderful - and quiet mood; A fabulous entry for this week’s challenge!
I really appreciate the muted saturation (maybe not the best description..) The pastels are beautiful. I also really like the luminosity you’ve chosen and processed. Kudos, beautiful all the way around. No nits or suggestions!
I really love the mood and the color palette here. I do feel the composition is a little off with the pilings pointing toward the left to basically nothing. Might be better if they directed the eye to the opening in the horizon on the right. Still lovely.
It is quite serene and just drips of silence. The pink pastel color is very soft and a joy to look at. If I was to nit pick about anything it would be where the vertical silhouette on the left meets that faint object in the BG, See Area A1. Otherwise a sublime moment captured and presented very well.

Chris this is a very lovely scene and certainly speaks to the theme of the challenge. The composition works for me. It does pull your eyes left, but the shoreline in the left back pulls me back toward the center and open water. The colors are just fantastic! Very pleasing to view. I see the spot that @Youssef_Ismail is referring to, and if I were to pick at anything it would be that. It’s not that big a deal to my eye, but if anything I would clone out the taller tree in the background where it occurs. Congrats on a beautiful image.
Chris, the frame filling pinks/magentas look great. They are set of well by the hints of yellow and blue. I especially like how starkly the posts (tree trunks??) stand out from all of the softness, even the ones near the horizon.
That is amazing. I know the spot and could never expect it to look like this. This reminds of how the great painters would render Venice Italy. It has the great quality diffuse light gets near the sea.
A square crop of the entire left side is also good.
Just the right level of saturation for my taste.
Lovely composition - other-world-like
The interface between the land and the Pile that others have mentioned does catch my eye a little too, but as one zooms in the tonal differences means that I probably would leave as is , unless you increase the difference by softening the horizontal shore a tiny bit. I think I love it as it is.
Bet it would look really magnificent printed big on the right sort of paper.
I remember this image from your first post of it Chris, and still love the strawberry lemonade mixed with Cool Whip affect.
What most impresses me is that you were hanging on the bridge at sunset, instead of with all the other photographers at the seastacks or the lighthouse.
What a great image and fantastic sunset. It is hard to find something to improve, but here are anyhow two minor ones:
The brightest parts of the sky is just a tad to bright for my taste.
The top of the left pole could have been a little bit more separated from the tree in the distance.
