Portrait of the World's Tallest Animal

A giraffe’s neck is 6 feet long and weighs 600 pounds, they can run up to 35 miles an hour and they can live up to 20 years. It was amazing being just a few feet from such a magnificent animal.

This was taken at the Out of Africa Wildlife park in Verde Valley Arizona. This park offers wildlife adventures for visitors and also educates the public on the importance and value of wildlife conservation. The park has been in existence for 33 years, offering homes to animals in challenging situations, giving them optimal healthcare and natural habitats that encourage a natural life.

Sounds like a wonderful place, Laura. Nice to know there are places like this taking care of these wounded animals. Thanks for posting.

Nice one! I read somewhere that giraffes are the only animals born with horns.

And the newborn can stand, walk and run within one hour, pretty amazing animals.

Thank you Dennis, much appreciated.

That is because they are not horns but bony skull protuberances.
