I got back to Grand Prismatic, but the lighting was very different, so a redo of my earlier view wasn’t working. Instead, I was struck by the sky being reflected by some of the terraces, depending on their orientation to the camera. I also liked tree reflections from the ridge behind.

Of all of your recent Prismatic images, this one takes top place, Mark. The reflections a wonderful and the blue of the terraces sets off nicely against the warmer reflections. No nits, here.

The variations and combinations of colors is what grabs my attention first. I especially like how the terraces in some places reflect the sky color while in other places they show their own color. And throughout the reflection of the trees giving a hint of the environment. One of the coolest Grand Prismatic Spring images I have seen, I’m with @Preston_Birdwell on this one.

Wow, I am really loving this abstract landscape! I think this one might be your best of the recent images from this location. I find this to be very mesmerizing with the myriad of colorful lines of the terraces cutting through the reflections of the BG trees.Amazing image and you should definitely be happy with it.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen reflections in the terraces at GPS before. The colors are beautiful and quite unusual. But I really love the reflected trees in the water and those jagged zig zagging lines in the terraces. I think what really grabs me though is the blue and magenta color combination. Amazing image.
It is hard for me to talk about abstract images because … they are abstract. Obviously there is no story and while it could be said there is mood, for the most part it is about colour and line. In those areas this image excels. What I love most about this image, well maybe second most after the green, blue , and magenta colour palette is the juxtaposition between the soft, calm reflections that is the base layer and the active ripple lines that is the surface layer. Really well seen and executed.
Mark, what a great photo. I’ve been to Grand Prismatic a number of times but this a very cool and unique image. I really like the patterns and colors. Truly an amazing photo of an amazing place.

Fanstastic image. I love the colors, the lines, the layers the texture across the surface. It’s all fantastic. I took the liberty of playing with a tiny crop, not much, just enough to eliminate things skirting that top edge. I offer it here as something to consider or play with to your own tastes if it makes sense to you to do so.
This is quite minor, really. I might have come down a tish too far too. Feel free to disregard or consider another approach to that top edge. I love this as presented. Wonderfully seen!

A little late here, but I had to comment on this beauty. Wow, and agree with other comments, perhaps the best - or certainly most unique images from this place I have seen. I’ve never been, but of course have seen lots posted here.
Yes, a great and natural abstract, so I’m glad you added the tag. I most especially enjoy the color transition from the warmer tones at the bottom nicely inter-woven with the blues/purples, to the cooler greens and blues up top. The purples and reflected blue work beautifully to bring the top and bottom together.
For me, this looks much less a “Grand Prismatic Springs” image or subject, then it does of alien worms and casings, or remnants of mole/gopher diggings or who knows what else the imagination may see here.
The colors/sat and processing in general are wonderful. No nits or suggestions there.
I was going to comment the same as Marylynne on the slight crop from the top, so I won’t bother with a visual. Not a huge deal and amazingly this image is sharp up front and through almost all the depth, so really it’s just a personal choice for a little top edge cleanup (tough part though finding a clean line.) Anyway, not an image killer.
