### Weekly Challenge

Quiet Movement

11/1/26 - 11/7/26

**Critique Style:** Standard

The photographer is looking for thoughtful feedback on the image as a whole, especially around the areas noted below.

**Feedback Focus:** Artistic / Expressive

### About This Image

On a brief photo excursion north of Juneau, I was struck by the quietness of the Eagle Beach State Recreation Area. At the time, there was not a whisper of a breeze, but the grasses conveyed yesterday’s wind.

### Feedback Requested

Does this convey quietness? How could it do so more fully? After submitting this, I tried a lowered contrast monochrome.

Lovely photo, Dick. I really like the framing; the expanse of grass - up to about 2/3 of the frame - before the water .

The lighting in the foreground is a bit subdued relative to the background though the background is not distracting at all.

The path as an device to guide the viewer to the beach is perfect.

I personally like the color version better, but both are nice.

Very good picture.

I like this, Dick. I think it conveys the idea of quiet quite well and the waves in the grasses certainly imply movement. I tend to prefer the color, but I’d consider cropping it as you did the B&W as that really puts the emphasis on the grasses.

Lovely scene, it’s so quiet, Dick. The path adds a charactere but not too much, just enough. I prefer your BnW version, not only because of its crop. To my eyes, soft BnW tones better suit the quietness of this scene. Very well done.
