Old saddle, with rope and cinch, hangs from a cross-pole in a short, narrow passageway at El Rancho de las Golondrinas, a historic rancho and now a living history museum. The museum is strategically located on what was once el Camino Real, the Royal Road, that extended from Mexico City to Santa Fe, in what is now New Mexico.

Thank you, David. Can you imagine sitting on that saddle for any length of time? Miserable, I would think.
