Great detail and eye contact, Dave. While I haven’t seen many of these, to me it seems like you could back off on the exposure just a bit.

The crossed bill reverses the downward (closing) power of the bill to enable this bird to pry open things. They use it to get the seeds in pine cones. Not the dried out cones on the ground, always the rock hard cones in the tree. Tenacious workers. This looks like a female.

Nice comp with excellent detail and BG. I could see it with a half stop reduction in brightness and a darker perch.
